1.   Drill hole to the diameter and depth as specified.   Image of hole being drilled
2.   Tap  the thread to the correct depth & fit classification as specified, using the correct STI taps.   Image of thread being tapped in to the correct depth and fit
3.   Gauge the tapped hole using a Go / No-Go wire insert thread plug gauge.   Image of tapped hole being gauged
4.   Install the insert to the desired depth using the correct inserting tools.   Image of installing the insert
5.   After installation remove the driving tang from the insert using the correct size tang break punch. A sharp hammer blow will shear the tang at the break off notch with out moving the insert.   Image of removing the driving tang from the insert
6.   Gauge the fitted insert using a standard Go / No-Go thread plug gauge.   Image of gauging the fitted insert
